Holter Monitor

A Holter Monitor measures the intrinsic electrical activity of your heart over a 24 or 48 hour period.

It is performed by placing stickers with electrodes contained within them on the outside of your chest. They are then connected to a small recording device that can fit on your belt or in your pocket.

You will then take the device home and go about your day to day activities.

You will be given an alert button to press if you experience symptoms.

Upon returning the device at the end of the recording period, the information will be downloaded and analysed by a cardiac nurse and a Cardiologist.

The results will then be compiled for a review with your doctor.
